Coco, Leigh, Natasha, Lili love the Bacara Resort on the Gaviota coast! Plan on doing a series of paintings of the coastline... Coco is checking it out. Any one interesting in a wine tasting /painting class  the resort is offering please let me know!

Santa Barbara Shoreline

Every Sunday I exhibit at the Santa Barbara beach art show.
This is one of my large "Bling "paintings. 40x 72.
I am assigned a particular spot along Cabrillo Blvd. My new location is right across from the carousel !

Fall Colors

Fall is in the air. I have returned from a wonderful workshop with Carole Marine in Santa Fe.  Great group of artists and golden color everywhere!

studio work

One great thing about opening my new gallery, En Plein Air. I have space and time to do larger studio works! This is a large 48" canvas. I started a loose underpainting in Acryllic paint and will layer the oil over it.

Dolphins

Playful Dolphins at entrance too Sterns Wharf. in Santa Barbara. I show paintings along the artwalk each Sunday. Always looking for something interesting to paint, this family posed well.

Last Rays on the Bluffs

One of those golden moments I have waited to paint!   This was a biggie for a plein air oil , 20x26. I plan to do a couple Gicles or post cards. My family seems to want this to be a keeper!

Sorry I have been a poor blogger, but in other ways I have been very good!  I still work my design shop, and my  new gallery/ studio. "En Plein Air" both on Linden in Carpinteria.  ( One may see me running back and forth). On Sundays I show at the Santa Barbara Art Show along the beach.  Just throw a few more colors on my palette such managing my ranch, SCAPE art group and my crazy family. I wonder if all of it makes my colors more vivid or muddy!!!

En Plein Air Gallery girls

Our First Friday Opening reception was unbelievable! As the evening progress the 500sq ft gallery filled up  elbow to elbow with good friends, patrons and family!

Art Along the Creek

This Memorial Day weekend  SCAPE is presenting it 5th annual ART ALONG THE CREEK!
over 100 artists painting to preserve the environment and restore Mission Creek.  May 26,27,28.

A FULL CART

A Full Cart, and still rattles!!!
In three days I will host an open studio tour at the ranch,,   Saturday  10 to 5 6816 Shepard Mesa Rd.
Last year when I broke my leg I set a goal of painting every view from the ranch, I now have about 40 works which I will set about  where I painted
This month is very full of art events SCAPE will celebrate its 10 yr celebration at Art Along The Creek, Mission Cyn,  Memorial Day weekend. As exhibit chair there is much to plan!

Views from the ranch

You are invited to a special viewing of two years work of "Views From the ranch"
 Saturday May 12  10 to 5.
 At least 40 painting of every view will be spread out over the ranch on Shepard Mesa. You may tour and explore rural life as it was!!

For those of you who know me, it's been quite the year to say the least! I feel the wind has shifted and changes are in the air...

Working

For at least 40 years I have sewed daily. Quilts, draperies, Slipcovers, Pillows . you name it! Recently I have been painting, ALOT!!! About time I paint one of my trusty friends.

Beach Folks

Lahaina Beach life, People love this spot to watch surfers learn! My workshop with Ken Auster was great. I usually don't put people in my paintings. I learned how!!! Other fab artists painted here as well, At the Sunset paint out, Darrell Hill, Ken Auster, Debra Huse, Ray Roberts and Peggi Kroll , Billyo. to name a few.

Body surfer

Wheres the surfer? perfect day at Kapalu on north shore. I didnt really finish this lesson in my workshop because I went body surfing instead! Perfect offshore breeze that blew the spay up into rainbows! Santa Barbara is almost perfect but I do wish the water is warmer!

The Ranch

A view from the top of our ranch. I love how the light shine thru the tips of the new shoots of the Cherimoya trees.
I hope to do a special exhibit of all the ranch paintings I have collected over the last year. There are about 40. I still want to do three more to complete the 360 degree views of the property.

Lifting storm

This is the only painting I had a chance to do over the holiday, for a super customer who's son goes to UCSB. this is the lagoon there.
This Christmas was unforgettable... and I wish I could. My darling daughter who's hope was to go the University were derailed by illness.
It's hard not to be able to do much about that, but Painting is a godsend and I hope each day in little ways it makes it better for all. Never take anything for granted.
