Carpinteria Cathedral

One of my larger plein air paintings for my ranch "bucket" list! 18x24. Although I have lived on this family ranch for 40 years, new vistas never cease to amaze me. so I had to add this to my List. Only about 3 or4 more large works to do. A triptic for my three daughters is part of that. I had hope to finish this challenge this fall, but perhaps by New Year is reasonable!
May your Holidays be filled with joy!

Post for Daily Paintworks

On this rainy day I finished 15 paintings, started a new large vista from the ranch and posting to daily Paintworks!

rainy day set up

I usually do plein air painting ( painted out doors on location) but on a rainy day its great to take over the dining room and paint by the fire with Coco our Doxie. She tells me when to put another log on! I signed all finished these paintings and started a new large one of our ranch view.
FYI. A bought bed pads from drugstore, and put under my work area. You can make a mess and even wipe your brushes on them!! No worries about the linen table cloth under!

More rainy day

Rainy Sunday

Today I was to exhibit my paintings at the art show along the beach in Santa Barbara and then attend special reception at Avante winery in Santa Ynez.. to rainy to go out of the house! So I am finishing ALL of by works and even signing them all. I have trouble doing a good signature, so usually put LAS my initials. I did sign 15 paintings today and my full name signature did get better!

Still Standing

This old Euc. tree is still hanging on. Standing in the dunes of Carpinteria State Beach. I remember when it had a full canopy and big limb near the ground we use to sit on.
Painted on a very foggy day with Thomas van Stein.

Wow, It has been an eventful week in Santa Barbara's art community! My work and the Art show I chaired was in all the papers. Our Wilderness to Gallery show at the Faulkner was on the cover.

Plaza Rubio

I'm a bad, bad girl. I sold the painting of my fav. house. and did not take a photo of it. It's soo hard being perfect! Ha.

I have been pretty good about keeping a diary or log of my work. I have painted over 250 paintings so far. I did an inventory of all my studies. There is a pile of them. Perhaps I should have a super sale on them , just for the cost of canvas! One great artist I know, threw a bunch of hers out and discovered next Satuday her neighbors sold them in a yard sale and made a killing!
